The pair were in court appealing after being sentenced to one month in prison followed by deportation.
They were ruled to have breached the Muslim state's strict honour and modesty laws when they kissed in a restaurant while out with friends.
A 38-year-old local woman was offended by their behaviour in the swish Jumeirah Beach Residence and called the police.
The accuser said her children saw the pair kiss on the lips and that she herself saw them stroking each other's backs.
But Charlotte and Ayman insist it was simply a peck on the cheek.
After yesterday's hearing, Ayman - a consultant for marketing firm Hay Group in Dubai - spoke for the first time since his arrest.
He said: "I totally respect the laws of this country, but I don't think we've done anything wrong and we want to clear our names.I'm disappointed it's gone this far. We could have just accepted the sentence instead of having this hanging over us, but we feel it's important to stand up for ourselves.
"I've really enjoyed living in Dubai and the last thing I would ever want to do is dis-respect their culture."
Ayman, from Palmers Green, North London, has lived in Dubai for more than 18 months.
In court, the lawyer representing the pair, Khalaf Al Hosani told the judge: "They kissed on the cheeks without having any intention to break the law.
